Jere Smith - aka the guy behind the blog "A Red Sox Fan from Pinstripe Territory" has written a murder mystery with his mom, Mary-Ann Tirone Smith, and has asked several Red Sox bloggers to read the book and review. I've never reviewed a book before and I don't want to give away the ending...so here it goes...Dirty Water, A Red Sox Mystery, is a fast-paced and intriguing look at the dark side of the baseball industry. The discovery of an abandoned baby in the clubhouse at Fenway Park by the 2007 Sox leads to an up-and-coming frightened AAA pitcher, a few thugs from Miami and a sleazy baseball agent in Los Angeles. Smith and Tirone Smith do a great job in weaving in tid-bits of your favorite Sox players with the story about young baseball prospects and the agents who control their futures. This mystery swerves and dips and finally races towards a suspenseful white-knuckle ending that will make you compulsively turn page after page until you realize that your lunch break ended 45 minutes ago. A must read for any true Red Sox fan.
